Public safety remains a fundamental priority for Jefferson County Commissioner Lashunda Scales.
Working with fellow commissioners, more than $676 million have been approved to support the Sheriff’s Department budget, helping ensure safe neighborhoods in unincorporated Jefferson County and surrounding cities.
In addition, more than $155,000 was invested to purchase security cameras along major Birmingham and Forestdale corridors in District 1.
“Safe neighborhoods encourage families and businesses to thrive,” said Commissioner Lashunda Scales. “We must continue to invest in early intervention and protective efforts when it comes to effective law enforcement.”
As Jefferson County continues to grow, ongoing public safety funding remains critical.
